October 12th -
A new semester brings new routines, new friendships, and for many international students, the experience of finding their place in a new country.
From July through September, Dealmoon joined university Orientation Week (O-week) activities across Australia and New Zealand, meeting students in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland.
Across nine universities, our teams introduced students to local shopping, dining, entertainment, and everyday resources while reconnecting with those who already make Dealmoon part of their lives.
What made this year's events particularly meaningful was seeing how those connections are growing.
For international students, settling into a new city involves discovering much more than the university campus. Finding familiar products, exploring local restaurants, navigating shopping options, and connecting with a community all become part of everyday life.
These are the moments where Dealmoon can play a role.
Throughout O-week, our teams brought the Dealmoon experience directly to students through conversations, interactive activities, and city-inspired merchandise. Students explored the platform, discovered local recommendations, and learned how Dealmoon can help them navigate life abroad.
Across the four cities, we connected with more than 3,000 new and existing users, including students who were discovering Dealmoon for the first time and others who had already made it part of their routines.
One of the most encouraging moments came from students who already knew Dealmoon.
In Sydney, returning users stopped by to share how they use the platform for shopping, dining, and local discoveries. In Melbourne, our team expanded its campus presence with a first-time activation at RMIT, adding another university community to our growing network.
Brisbane offered opportunities to learn more about local student interests, while in Auckland, students returned to connect with Dealmoon for a second year. Some had discovered the activities through Xiaohongshu and made a point of visiting.
These interactions tell us something important about the relationships we're building. Students are finding Dealmoon through different channels, recognizing our presence in their communities, and choosing to engage with us in person.
Each interaction helps our teams better understand the interests, habits, and everyday needs of the people we serve.
Our presence on campus is part of a larger commitment to staying connected with Chinese consumers throughout their lives abroad.
As students discover new cities and establish their routines, their interests and shopping needs continue to evolve. Those everyday experiences influence the brands they discover, the products they consider, and the recommendations they share.
For our brand partners, this connection offers valuable opportunities to become part of those discoveries through relevant content, local experiences, and engagement within established communities.
By bringing together digital content, social platforms, and in-person experiences, Dealmoon continues to strengthen the relationships that make those connections possible.
The connections made during O-week continue well beyond the first weeks of university.
As Dealmoon grows its presence across Australia and New Zealand, we're exploring more opportunities to work with university communities, develop localized content, and create experiences that bring students and brands together throughout the academic year.
Our goal is to remain a familiar and useful part of everyday life for international students, from their first days on campus to the communities and routines they build over time.
Every new connection is an opportunity to deepen that relationship and continue growing the community that makes Dealmoon valuable to both consumers and brand partners.
